López has recorded two albums in Havana Cuba where he spends much of his time playing and recording with Cuban musicians.Kenny López sings, writes songs in Spanish and plays the tres cubano, (a three stringed guitar used in traditional cuban dance music).He is the director of the band Odisea La Banda from Cuba and Havana Connection from Australia. He has played with Sierra Maestra,Chapottin y sus Estrellas,Elito Revé y su Charangón, Los Tres de Habana and Juan de Marcos,s Afro-Cuban Allstars. Kenny López Havana Connection also features female Cuban singer Aimeé Colás from Havana.Aimeé sings duo and backing vocals with Kenny López and plays maracas.She also sings lead vocals in a number of Cuban classics with original arrangements (listen to Havana Connection CD) and leads the choreography with singer Claudia Osegueda,who sings and plays the guiro.Havana Connection also features Rodolfo Hechevarría from Cuba who plays congas,bongos and batá drums, congero Felipe Cornejo from Chile who has studied in Cuba with Changuito (Los Van Van), veteran bongosero Pipo Martinez, Conrado "El Indio" on baby bass and hot trumpet player Tristan Ludowyck who has studied in Cuba with Frank Padrón(Pancho Amat) and has been with Havana Connection since 1998.

Havana Connection has headlined at the Sydney Festival 1999,2003, The Port Fairy Festival 2005, Live En Aout in New Caledonia 2004, St Kilda Festival 2004, Globe to Globe Festival 1999 & 2003, Latino Grooves Festival 2006 and many more and continues to be the best and only authentic Cuban band in Melbourne. The Cuban Diva Dinner Dances held at Czech House in North Melbourne featuring Havana Connection have been instrumental in promoting true Cuban culture in Australia. The band has also played at many weddings such as that of Rachel Griffiths at The Palais St Kilda, corporate and private functions such as IBM's Christmas party and The Cigar Society at The Grand Hyatt.
Havana Connection is available for bookings a s a seven piece or as a twelve piece with two trumpets, trombone, piano, timbales and an extra singer from Cuba.
The band also performs with Tabaco y Ron:four Cuban dancers directed by Cuban coreographer Aloy Junco at corporate events and shows at venues such as The Corner Hotel or The Grand Hyatt with adequate stage and lighting facilities.
