Elito Revé y Su Charangón
Founded in 1956 by the teacher Elio Revé Matos,
an historic figure in Cuban music, the band Elio
Revé and his Charangón has been for
many years, a musical group of great prestige in Cuba
and other parts of the world. Born in Guantánamo,
an Eastern province of Cuba, in 1930, Elio became a
faithful exponent of the highest qualities of Cuban
music.
After his death in 1997, his son Elio Revé Jr
(Elito) graduated from music school, and inevitably
became part of this orchestra, as pianist and arranger.
He has accepted the challenge to continue the work of
Revé and strives to maintain not only the popularity,
but the authentic sound that has distinguished this
group.
